This portfolio is a collection of projects that demonstrate the different kinds of technology I have been learning about throughout my participation in the EDIT2000 at the University of Georgia.  The projects that are displayed throughout my portfolio are examples of how technology can be used in the classroom as a teaching tool.

The projects that I created have allowed me to see new ways to use technology that I was already familiar with, and also new programs that I was introduced to.  I learned new ways to use Power Point, Exel, and Microsoft Word that will be beneficial to any job I have in the future.  Knowledge of these programs and their capabilities will allow me to more effectively use the technology that is available to me.

By learning to use technology in these new ways, I see how technology can be used as a tool in the classroom.  Whether it is through viewing a movie made through iMovie, the students constructing a concept map using Inspiration, or the playing of a Power Point game, technology takes on all kinds of roles.  It diviersifies the learning experience for students, while helping learn information in different ways.  In doing so, the students are using more of their senses to learn a concept, which increases the likelihood of retention.  Retention and learning being the ulitimate goal, the integration of technology in the classroom is a must in today's society.
